PDM and Buildbase were acquired by Huws Gray in 2022, making us part of the UK’s largest Independent Builders Merchant supplying building materials to Trade and DIY customers from over 200 locations with over 5,500 colleagues across the UK.
Following the acquisition, Buildbase in England and Wales have merged with Huws Gray to create a new fusion brand, and in Scotland it has completely converted to the Huws Gray brand, to work alongside PDM supplying our customers across Scotland.

I started with PDM in 2019 as a Trainee Management Accountant. Since joining I have found that every member of staff, whether that be in head office or 1 of our 25 branches, has been extremely welcoming and created an atmosphere which is not only suitable for working but provides a great social aspect. The company has also provided me with some great opportunities to further my career in accounting by putting me through ACCA and offering great courses to expand my Microsoft Excel skills.
PDM is a fantastic place to work where no 2 days are the same and there is a real opportunity to progress and develop your career. Customer service is at the centre of all our everyday activities, achieved through effective team work.
